Friedrich Jergitsch studied law (Dr. iur.) and music in Vienna. From 1990 to 1994 he worked as a credit analyst for The Chase Manhattan Bank in Vienna, New York and London. Following employment with an international trading house he joined the German-Austrian law firm Bruckhaus Westrick Heller Löber in 1998. After being admitted to the Vienna bar, he became a partner of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, the international law firm, from 2003 to 2023. Since November 2023 Friedrich has been a partner of Reidlinger Schatzmann Jergitsch Rechtsanwälte.

Friedrich advises banks, financial institutions and corporate clients on a wide range of matters, from banking law, loans and structured financings to regulatory matters. He also advises clients on insolvency-related matters, corporate law matters and restructurings.

Friedrich is the author of numerous legal publications, including a contribution to the “Manz” commentary of the Austrian Banking Act and the “Depotrecht” handbook on custody law published by Finanzverlag. Further, Friedrich lectures on banking and capital markets law-related matters at the Vienna University’s law faculty and Donauuniversität Krems.
